PROPOSED COST OF $4,959.00; AIJ.00ATING FUNDS T'fiI:REFOR FROM THE 1934 CAPITA!, TMPROVE,MENT PROJECTS FUND - DINNER KE,Y MARINA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received June 4, 1984 for the furnishing of all Labor and Materials to Replace Nine (9) Fender Piles and One (1) Dolphin Pile at Dinner Key Marina, on a short-term contract basis until final acceptance, to the Office of Marinas; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 73 potential suppliers and 4 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Capital Improvement Projects Fund; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Office of Marinas for the purpose of replacing deteriorated and unsafe structures at the City's Marina facility; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Office of Marinas recommend that the bid received from N. U., Inc. Marine Construction be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The June 4, 1984 bid of N. U., Inc, Marine Construction, for furnishing all Labor and Materials for Pile Replacement at Dinner Key Marina, on a short-term contract basis for the Office of Marinas, at a total proposed cost of $4,959.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from Capital Improvement Projects Fund - Dinner Key Marina. Gary City Manager FROM: Alfredo Directo Y .- K_ DATE: July 9, 1984 FILE: SUBJECT: Piling Replacement at Dinner Key Marina REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: It is recommended that the award be made,and a Resolution be passed ac- cepting the lowest responsible and responsive bid as received from N.U. Inc. & Marine Construction for the replacement of nine (9) deteriorated fender piles and (1) Dolphine pile at a total cost of four thousand nine hundred fifty nine dollars, ($4,959.). Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received on June 4, 1984 for furnishing all labor and materials for the replacement of nine (9) fender piles and one (1) Dolphin pile at Dinner Key Marina. Invitations were mailed to seventy three (73) potential suppliers and four (4) bids were received. This is a short term contract for the replacement of nine (9) fender piles and one (1) Dolphine pile at Dinner Key Marina at the earliest possible date. These piles are deteriorated to the point of creating a dangereous condition to any vessel that is moored to said piles. Should a pile snap serious injury or damage would be expected.
