CITY OF MIAM1, FLORIOA
71 INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: Mr. Howard Gary
City Manager
FROM: D. H. Teems, Deputy Chief
Acting Director of Fire, Rescue
& Inspection Services Department
DATE: July 5, 1984 MLE:
SUBJECT: Resolution and Award of Bid
for Demolition of Structure
Bid No. 83-84-94
REFERENCES: For City Commission Meeting
of July 30, 1984
ENCLOSURES:
It is recommended that an Award be made
and a Resolution be passed accepting
the lowest responsive and responsible
bid as received from Tree Masters, Inc.,
a demolition contractor, for the demo-
lition and clearing away of debris
from the property located at
724-28 N.W. 2 Avenue, at a total
cost of $8,998.00.
Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received
June 29, 1984, furnishing materials and equipment needed
to demolish and clear away the debris from the structure
as directed by the Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services
Department, Code Enforcement Section.
The subject building is a two-story CBS commercial building
and has long been an eyesore; vacant, unsecured and a
harbor for vagrants. It contains a great number of
combustible materials and is a fire hazard to the life and
safety of surrounding citizenry. By this justification,
we request its immediate demise.
Funds are to be provided by the Community Development
Program and recovery by normal lien holding proceedings.
