After a properly advertised public hearing, (-t.c finding of the City Manager set Forth in the preamble to this Resolution is hereby ratified by an affirmative vote of 2/3rds of the City Commission and adopted as if fully set forth in this section and compliance with the full City Code .requirement for competitive bidding, including further City Commission action, is hereby waived. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to prepare plans and specifications, advertise for and receive competitive bids, evaluate the bids received, and execute a contract with the lowest acceptable bidder for molded bottom plastic bunch tytrr_- seats Similar to seats used in other N.F.E. and v),ijor longue h.-whi.11 F-Jadiurrr.a at. an init.i3l- cost of $i35,000 with. fUn(IS therefor hereby allocated from Anticipated Re sort Tax Revenues. The original Bi.d s-, ccif ications were prepared in such a manner that a scat. ar,d frame of lesser quality than required for an outdoor f4::ci l.i'ryr. T,i.;:ht: 11, avc been selected. it was decided at that time t ; rev ect :aids and draft new specifications that meet the regtai_-etrcnt.s oi� idF'l nd 'Aa-4or �,cague bascball stadiums. Since we must hFve these ;eats replaced before the first regular season football. game because of the severely deteriorated condition of many of these seats, we recommend that you request the City Commission to permit the purchase of new seats under the new Emergency Procedure Ordinance that covers Public Works construction projects. On July 12th, 1984 the City Commission passed an Orange Bowl Stadium Appropriation Ordinance that provided $85,000 which was made available from the Anticipated Resort Tax Revenues for this purpose. We have prepared the attached Orange Bowl Stadium Bleacher Seat Replacement Uroject Resolution, which permits file City Managrer to prepare ;duns and specifications, advertise for and receive competitive _ids, evaluate the yids reo,,eiv vd and execute a contract .or the Orancie, coral St d_ur all ac't�e" meat Replacement Project. `r1e recommend that this Resolution be placed or. the July 30th, 1984 City Commission agenda. 4
