PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EOUT11IENT, SUBJECT
TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Building and Vehicle
Maintenance is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all
City vehicles, including Rubbish Cranes used by the Department of
Solid Waste; and
WHEREAS, the City currently owns 23 Bucyrus Erie
Rubbish Cranes purchased from 1960 through 1975; and
WHEREAS, Segment Bank Valves are integral to the
hydraulic operation of these cranes, and are replaced regularly
as normal maintenance procedure for heavy equipment of this type;
and
WHEREAS, research by the Depart :ent of Building and
Vehicle Maintenance; has sl,owri l)ynex./R.Lvett, Inc. to be the only
reasonable sc)urce of supply far these replacer,eint parts
compatible with the City,.- �:}<:it.tiriv � quilsr cr:t• « id

WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
1983-84 Operating Budget; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. By an affirmative four -fifths (4/5ths) vote
of the Members of the City Commission, after a duly advertised
public hearing, the City Manager's written finding that
Dynex/Rivett, Inc. is the sole source of supply to furnish
Hydraulic Bank Valves, as needed, to the Department of Building
and Vehicle Miaiiltenailce i:s hereby ratific;-d .

1983-84 Operating Budget of the Department of Building and
Vehicle Maintenance.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue Purchase Orders for this
equipment, subject to the availability of funds.
