WHEREAS, sealed bids were received July 24 , 1984, for
Western Drainage Project E-54 Bid "A".
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department
of Public Works recommend that the bid received from Miri
Construction, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and
responsive bid; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation ordinance
No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9, 1982, and monies
are avaiiable; for the proposed amount of the, contract, project
expense, and incidentals fr•otn the account entitled "Local
Drainage Projects", as set forth under Section V.B.5 of said
ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The July 24, 1984, bid of Miri Construction,
Inc. in the proposed amount of $770,663.00, for the project
entitled Western Drainage Project E-54 Bid "A" of the proposal,
based on unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated
therein.

Section 2. The amount of $770,663.00 is hereby allocated
from the account entitled "Local Drainage Projects" to cover the
cost of said contract.

expense.
Section 4
The
addi-tional amount
of $15,414.00
is hereby

Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with Miri
Construction, Inc. for Western Drainage Project E-54 Bid "A" of
the proposal.

The DQpartment of .Public Works has
determined a. low bidder for the Western
Drainage Project E--511 Bid "A". The proposed
attached rc^c71.1_11i.on locepts the bid received
July 24, 19")l of Mi.ri Construction, Inc. in
the amol'int ref "> [,[0 , 663 . 00 , and authorizes
the Cite Mrin;-gcr to enter into a contract on
behalf of the City.
Bids were received July 24, 1984 for Western drainage
Project E--54 Bid "A".
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $770,663.00 of
Miri Construction, Inc. is the lowest r3sponsible and
responsive bid for Bid "A" of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated under the "Local Drainage
Projects" account, and monies are available for the
estimated amount of the contract, for project expense, for
such items as advertising, testing laboratories, and
postage.
25 contractors picked up plans and specifications (minority
contractors: 7 hispanic, 2 black); 5 contractors submitted
bids (minority contractors: 2 hispanic, 0 black). The
engineers estimate was $650,000.00.
