ENCLOSURES:
It is recommended that the City Commission
approve a resolution requesting favorable
consideration by the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development of an amend-
ment to the City of Miami's application
for financial assistance to the Christian
Hospital project through the Urban Develop-
ment Action Grant Program and directing
the City Manager to prepare such an amend-
ment to the application.
On August 2, 1984, Dena Spillman met with officials of the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development to discuss the City's Urban Development
Action Grant application for the Christian Hospital project. She was
informed at that time that HUD would accept an amendment to the City's
original UDAG application for the project.
The project development team, headed by Christian Hospital, Inc., a non-profit
healthcare group, is in the process of preparing the information necessary to
allow us to submit such an amendment to HUD.
The attached resolution requests HUD's positive review of the application
amendment and authorizes the City Manager to prepare and submit the amendment.
City Commission approval is recommended.
