HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-1027J-84-8 9/12/84 M84-830 7/30/84 RESOLUTION NO. 84-1027 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $20,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, IN SUPPORT OF CARNAVAL MIAMI; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT PREVIOUSLY EXECUTED BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE LITTLE HAVANA TOURIST AUTHORITY, INC., IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, the City Commission by Resolution No. 84-166 on February 9, 1984, allocated $20,000 to the Little Havana Tourist Authority for Carnaval Miami; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 84-254 was passed on March 8, 1984, authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Little Havana Tourist Authority, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City Commission by Motion No. 84-830 on July 30, 1984, expressed its intent to allocate an additional $20,000 to the Little Havana Tourist Authority for Carnaval Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $20,000 is hereby allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund to the Little Havana Tourist Authority, Inc., for Carnaval Miami. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an amendment to the agreement with the Little Havana Tourist Authority, Inc., in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. Gary City Manager DATE August 9, 1984 Mal .UNJECT- A Resolution Allocating 20,0 to the Little Havana Tourist Authority r m, Carl Kern REFERENCES: September 13, 1984 City Acting Director Commission Meeting Department of Parks ENCLOSURES: and Recreation "It is recommended that an additional $20,000 be allocated from Special Programs and Accounts Contingent Fund to the Little Havana Tourist Author- ity for Carnaval Miami; and that the City Manager be authorized to execute an amendment to the agreement with the Little Havana Tourist Authority; formalizing Motion No. 84-830 of July 30, 1984, per the attached resolution." On July 30, 1984, the City Commission, by Motion No. 84-830 expres- sed their intent to increase by $20,000 the grant originally awarded to the Little Havana Tourist Authority for Carnaval Miami by Resolution No. 84-166 on February 9, 1984. The attached resolu- tion formalizes this motion and authorizes the execution of an amendment to the agreement.with the Little Havana Tourist Authority which was originally authorized by Resolution No. 84-254 on March 8, 1984. Monies for this grant are available from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund. A/ar cc. Law Department AMENDMENT This amendment, entered into this — day of 1984, amending an Agreement, dated , between the City of Miami, hereinafter referred to as "CITY", and the Little Havana Tourist Authority, Inc., hereinafter referred to as "GRANTEE". WITNESSETH WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Reaolutiori No. 84- . , on increased the amount previously awarded to the Little Havana Tourist Authority, Inc., for Carnaval Miami from $25,000 to $45,000; rrriqt - Authority, Inc do mutually'egree that the following amendment shall apply to the above referenced Agreements 4. COMPENSATION a) The CITY shall pay the GRANTEE, as compensation for the services outlined pursuant to Paragraph 3 hereof, the amount of $ 45 ; 00O b) Said compensation shall be paid in the following manners 1. City services will first be defrayed from the origi- nal $45,000 allocation and the balance, if any, shall be paid as reimbursement to the GRANTEE upon presentation of original paid bills and/or professional services agreements, on or before September 30, 1984. c) The GRANTEE and the CITY hereby agree that the maximum amount payable under this contract shall not exceed $45,000.
