A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROYAL
METALS, INC., FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING
RAILINGS AND LADDERS AT THE MIAMI STADIUM
CONCERT STAGE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING
AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AT A TOTAL PROPOSED
COST OF $7,656.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR
FROM THE THE 1983-84 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A
PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received June 29, 1984 for the furnishing and Installation of
Railings and Ladders at the Miami Stadium Concert Stage on a
short-term contract basis, to the Department of Building and
Vehicle Maintenance; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 52 potential
suppliers and b bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
1983-84 Capital Improvement Pro3ect Funds ; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department
of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of providing
new equipment required for safety and access for the Miami
Stadium Stage; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of the Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that
the bid received from Royal Metals, Inc. be accepted as the
lowest responsible and responsive bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The June 29, 1984 bid of Royal Metals, Inc.
for furnishing and Installing Railings and Ladders at the Miami
Stadium Concert Stage for the Department of Building and Vehicle
Maintenance at a total proposed cost of $7,656.00 is hereby
accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1983-84
Capital Improvement Project Funds.

Ordini a ce No. 9775 established a goal of Awarding 50% of the City I s
total dollar volume of all experx1itures for All Goods and Sexvices
to Black and Hispanic Minority Bushiness Enterprises on an equal basis.
Minority Vendors who are interested in submitting bids and who are not
registered with the City as minority vendors are advised to contact
the City Purchasing Office, 1145 N.W. llth Street, Rom 126, Telephone
579-6380.
Detailed specifications for the bid are available upon request at the
City Purchasing Office.
The City Manager may reject all bids and reachertise.

ENCLOSURES:
THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE
MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDS THAT A RESOLU-
TION BE PASSED AND AWARD MADE TO ROYAL
METALS FOR THE FURNISHING OF RAILINGS
AND LADDERS TO THE MIAMI STADIUM CONCERT
STAGE FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $7,656.
Pursuant to the issuance of Bid #83-84-70, a total of. six (6)
bids were received. The Department cf Building and Vehicle
Maintenance has performed a thorough evaluation of these bids
and find that the lowest bidder has submitted a responsive
and responsible bid that meets specification. It is therefore
recommended that award of subject bid be made to Royal Metals
for the total amount of $7,656.
The railings and ladders, when installed, will provide required
access and safety for performers when the newly constructed
concert stage is in use. The completion of these installations
should enable the stage to be used for its intended purpose.
Funds are available for the award of this bid in the Miami
Stadium Concert Stage account.

3. The Blue Book Contractors Register.
Minority Response consisted of two (2) "no bids" (from A & B
Hardware, Inc. and One Hundred Mills, Inc.) and one (I} ate
Sia A va Metal Manufacturers returned unopened), all
Hispanic American firms.
BID EVALUATION: All bids meet the specifications and
award is recommended to the lowest
bidder. Following is an analysis of
