A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $6,000 FROM
SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF
LIFE FUND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REDUCING
THE RENTAL COST OF THE COCONUT GROVE
EXHIBITION CENTER AND ALLOCATING AN
ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $3,000 FROM THE
OPERATING BUDGET OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
TO COVER THE COST OF IN -KIND SERVICES, IN
SUPPORT OF THE 1985 FASHION SPREE, TO BE
HELD FEBRUARY 21-23, 1985, IN THE COCONUT
GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER, WITH PROCEEDS
GOING TO THE MULTI -FACETED COMMUNITY
SERVICE PROJECTS SPONSORED BY THE
NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JEWISH WOMEN; SAID
ALLOCATIONS BEING CONDITIONED UPON
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED
JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS, the National Council of Jewish Women has
requested financial assistance in support of its 1985 Fashion
Spree; and
WHEREAS, the Council has conducted activities over the
past 12 years in an effort to raise funds for its multi-
faceted community service projects which include: CHARLEE
(Children have All Rights: Legal, Education, Emotional);
family care homes for abused, neglected, emotionally
disturbed adolscentss cultural programs for needy children in
Dade County Public Schools; Camperships for needy children;
Day Care Scholarships; University Scholarships; Guardian Ad
Litem - Volunteers best interest of abused and neglected
children before the court; Senior Aide Program; sponsorship
of Dade County Public Schools Braille Library; as well as
offering volunteer services to the community which totalled
75,211 hours during 1983-84, and which translated into a
savings to the community of $251,956; and

WHEREAS, the City's assistance will he used to pay for
50% of the rental charges for Coconut Grove Exhibition Center
on February 21-23, 1985, and in -kind services by the Police
Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVED 8Y THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. For the purpose of achieving a $6,000
reduction in the rental cost of the Coconut Grove Exhibition
Center, an amount not to exceed $6,000 is hereby allocated
from Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life Fund, and
an additional amount of $3,Q00 is hereby allocated from the
operating budget of the Police Department to cover the cost
of in -kind services in support of the Fashion Spree to be
held at the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center on
February 21-23, 1985, with proceeds going to support the
multi -faceted community service projects sponsored by the
National Council of Jewish Women.

conditioned upon
substantial
compliance
with
City of Miami
Administrative
Policy No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.
