WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received March 2, 1984 for the furnishing of Complete Auditorium
Maintenance Services for the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center
(including General Custodial Services, Events 11ai.ntenancc and
Grounds Maintenance), on a contract basis, renewable annually at
the same prices, terms and conditions to the Office of
Auditoriums; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 69 potential
suppliers and 12 bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
1983-84 Operating Budget for the first year; and
WHEREAS, these services will be used by the Office of
Auditorium: for the purpose of cleaning and maintaining said City
facility, its offices and grounds on a regular basis and for all
events; and

In addition to the fact that Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc. has the
lowest bid, they have also head the maintenance contract for the De-
partment of Auditoriums for the past year and we are very pleased with
their se:rvicos. Ploreover, utilizing Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc.
will eliminate the need of having to orientate and train new floor
personnel, thus saving the City of Miami :additional expenses in
training costs.
