RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING THE AMOI)NT OF $42.80
AS THE SAVINGS TO BE ACHIEVED O'A EACH AVERAGE
TAXABLE PARCEL OF PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF
MIAMI AS A RESULT OF NOT FILLIQG THE EXISTING
183 VACANT POSITIONS IN THE CITY'S WORK FORCE
DURING THE 1984-1985 FISCA� YEAR; FURTHER
EXPRESSING THE INTENT OF THE C;TY COMMISSION
THAT NONE OF THE SAID 183 VACANCIES BE FILLED
BY THE CITY MANAGER WITHOUT ','HE EXPRESS
ADVANCE APPROVAL OF THE CITY COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the dollar impact of not filling 183 existing
vacant budgeted positions in the City of Miami's work force
during the 1984-1985 fiscal year upon the approximate 85,550
taxable parcels in the City would amount to tax -saving of $42.80
on the average parcel for the year; and
WHEREAS, the herein proposed tax - saving measure of not
filling such vacancies has been denominated by some City tax
payers as "MITASA" standing for Mlami TAx SAving; and
WHEREAS, the measure deserves the support of everyone
involved in City government;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The amount of $42.80 is hereby identified on
the savings to be achieved on each average taxable parcel of
property in the City of Miami as a result of not filling the
existing 183 vacant positions in the City's work farce during the
1984-1985 fiscal year.
Section 2. It is the intent of the City Commission that
none of the said vacant positions be filled by the City Manager
without the express advance approval of the City Commission.
