A resolution authorizing the City Manager
to accept a donation of real property by
Peter Realty Company, Inc. and approving
the use of Community Development funds
to clear the property from any pending
property taxes or liens in an amount
not to exceed $30,000.
The offer of a proposed donation of real property with address at
550 N.W. 22nd Street and legally described as Lots A, 10 and 11
of Block A, N.W. Seventh Avenue Addition Plat Book 7, page 36,
Dade County, Florida, was made to the City of Miami by Peter
Realty Company, Inc.
The property involved is a three -lot site with 13,800 square feet,
a building with 26 units, and an area of 10,423 square feet.
The property is located in the Garment Center/Fashion District
Redevelopment Area and is included for acquisition within Phase III
of the Acquisition Plan which has not yet been approved by the City
Commission. -The Master Plan for the redevelopment of this area was
approved by the City Commission on July 23, 1979, Resolution No.
79-553. Land acquisition within the Master plan was divided into
three phases in order.to lessen residential dislocation, and to
conform with available funding. Phases I and I1, approved by the
City Commission, (9.07 acres) have been completed. (See attached
Pi . ma r
Cost of acquisition of this property under regular procedures is
estimated to be $185,000, while the donated estimated cost will be
$30,000. The premises, which is abandoned and blighted, will be r
demolished wince it serves no social or economic purpose.
We recommend acceptance of the property. With removal of a blighted
residential structure;it,will improve the area, facilitate assmoiage ?
of large parcels'vf land for industrial purpose and reduce the cost .
of land acquisition in Phass.Zll of the Garment Center/Fashion Qi>rist
Redevelopment Plan should we later decide to proceed with it.
