PC FER CNC. C—
.;:
Plaintiff, Lauderhill Leasing, Inc., a Florida corporation, filed a
claim against the City of Miami through its attorney, Joseph I. Davis,
for property damage arising out of an accident which occurred on
June 13, 1983, at Southwest 32 Avenue and Day Avenue, Miami, Florida.
The plaintiff, Lauderhill Leasing had leased a 1983 Cadillac to a
Mr. Carl Newman. The Cadillac lease3by Mr. Newman was hit on the
aforesaid date by a City of Miami Police car that ran into the Cadillac.
The City of Miami accepted responsibility for causing the accident
and agreed to pay Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) for damages.
However, at the time of the accident, there was some question as to
the ownership of the Cadillac, and the City of Miami decided to pay
for the damages at a later date once the question of ownership had
been resolved. At the present time, Lauderhill Leasing has established
and presented evidence as to it being the owner of the Cadillac, and
the City would like to fulfill its obligation to pay $6,000.00 to the
