HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-1264i t J-84- 1099 11/5/84 rr/078/D8 M84-1 17 5 (10/10/84) E RESOLUTION NO.54-1264 A RESOLUTION' ALLOCATING $89333 OF FY'84-85 FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS' APPROPRIATED BY PASSAGE OF ORDINANCE NO. 9901-TO THE INTERAMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING THE HOTEL AND RESTAURANT SKILLS TRAINING PROJECT;. PREVIOUSLY FUNDED BY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT EMERGENCY JOBS BILL FUNDS, FOR THE PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 1984 THROUGH OCTOBER 31, 1984;-AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH THE AFORESAID AGENCY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE HEREIN ALLOCATION. WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Motion No. 84-1175 dated October 10, 1984 which expressed the intent to allocate 1/12th funding to the Interamerican Chamber of Commerce based on the Agency's $100,000 Community Development Emergency Jobs Bill allocation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. $8,333 of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 9901 is hereby allocated to the Interamerican Chamber of Commerce for the period October 1, 1984 through October 31, 1984. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with the aforesaid Agency for continued implementation of a Hotel and Restaurant Skills Training Project by said Agency which project was previously funded by Community Development Emergency Jobs Bill funds. One (1) It is recommended that the City Com- mission adopt a resolution which formal- izes Motion 84-1175 providing a 1/12 allocation of $8,333 of FY'84-85 Federal Revenue Sharing funds to the Interamerican Chamber of Commerce. At its meeting of October 10, 1984, the City Commission passed Notion No. 84-1175 which expressed the Commission'.s intent to allocate the Interamerican Chamber of Commerce $8,333 of 1984-85 Federal Revenue Sharing funds based on 1/12 the agency's alloca- tion of 1983-84 Emergency C. D. Jobs Bill funds of $100,000. The project provides training to City of Miami residents in the hotel/ restaurant industry (waiter/waitress, bartender./barmaid). The attached resolution formalizes Motion 84-1175 passed by the Commission at the October loth meeting. Enclosure 84-1264
