IN CONNECTION WITH THE "MIAMI MUSIC AND HERITAGE FAIR" TO BE HELD AT BICENTENNIAL PARK ON FEBRUARY 9 AND 10, 1985. WHEREAS, Performing Arts and Community Education, Inc. (P.A.C.E.) has planned the "Miami Music and Heritage Fair" on February 9 and 10, 1985; and WHEREAS, the event will take place in Bicentennial Park and will include music and the vending of food, drink, and souvenirs; and WHEREAS, P.A.C.E. has requested a two-day permit for Febru- ary 9 and 10, 1985, to sell beer and wine in connection with the "Miami Music and Heritage Fair"; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April 5, 1984, authorized the City Commission to permit the dispensing of beer or wine in soft containers in any City park upon such conditions and limitations as the City Commission shall prescribe; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY ;a OF MIAMI, FLORIDA% Yr Section 1. Gary DATE: October 11, 1984 RILE: City Manager SUBJECT: Miami Music and Heritage Fair Beer and Wine Permit Resolution FROM: Carl Kern REFERENCES: Agenda Item for November 8, Acting Director 1984, City Commission Department of Parks ENCLOSURES: Meeting and Recreation "It is recommended that P.A.C.E. be granted a two-day permit to sell beer and wine in connection with the "Miami Music and Heritage Fair," to be held on February 9 and 10, 1985 in Bicentennial Park, per the attached resolution." Performing Arts and Community Education, Inc. (P.A.C.E.), has planned the Miami Music and Heritage Fair on February 9 and 10, 1985, at Bicentennial Park, as a part of the 7th Annual Big Orange Music Fest- ival. The City Commission, by Resolution No. 84-832 of July 30, 1984 allo- cated a $25,000 cash grant to P.A.C.E., as well as a loan of $65,000 for operating expenses. The Miami Music and Heritage Fair will include music and the vending of food, drinks and souvenirs; consequently,the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that P.A.C.E. be granted a two-day permit to sell beer and wine in connection with this event. 170 Enclosure S4-1242 Iii
