RESOLUTION NO. 84-1329
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $15#000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, IN SUPPORT OF
THE THIRD ANNUAL MIAMI RIVER REVIVAL
BOAT PARADE AND RIVERFEST, HELD IN MIAMI
ON DECEMBER 7 AND 8, 1984; SAID ALLOCA-
TION BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL
COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINIS-
TRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED
JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS, the Third Annual Miami River Revival Boat Parade
and Riverfest has been planned for December 7 and 8, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion No. 84-1257 on
November 8, 1984, expressed its intent to allocate $15,000 in
support of the Third Annual Miami River Revival Boat Parade and
Riverfest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $15,000 is hereby allo-
cated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, in
support of the Third Annual Miami River Revival Boat Parade and
Riverfest, held in Miami on December 7 and 8, 1984.
Section 2. The herein allocation is conditioned upon sub-
stantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy No.
APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.

The'final'event of the Miami Conference on the Caribbean consists
of reception for Conference delegates, Dec. 7 at Hyatt.and beat
pa_rade'on Miami River Dec. 8. Boats from Caribbean Basin nations
are encouraged to particip"ate, international dignitaries -are invited
to ride the parade route on the flagship. Over 100 boats enter the
parade and thousands of spectators view the parade from the Hyatt
to the Mahi Shrine on 15th Avenue.

This is the third year for the event. The MRRC has successfully
developed the Miami River Parade into an event74iaorthy of extensive
media coverage thru the efforts of its volunteer committees and under
the direction at times of consultants who add logistical and -.promotional

organinption to the effort.

I hereby certify that the information provided herein is true and
accurate and that the funds provided by the City will be expended
in accordance with the commitments approved by the City
Commission. Furthermore, the City will be provided with an
accounting of expenditures and receipts within thirty •(30) days
after •the event's- conclusion and/or receipt .of funds from the
City, whichever is applicable, along with any other documents or
data rectuested by the City.
