and Recreation
"It is recommended that financial assis-
tance be formally requested from the
State of Florida for the purchase of the
property located at approximately 3471
Main Highway, adjacent to the north
boundary of the Barnacle State Park, per
the attached resolution."
On November 8, 1984, the City Commission directed the City Manager,
by Motion No. 84-1221, to investigate the possible acquisition by the
State of Florida of the property adjacent to the Barnacle State Park.
j On November 29, 1984, staff from this Department traveled to Talla-
hassee and presented the issue to the Land Acquisition Selection
Committee. The Committee advised us that they would consider the
j project for funding under the Conservation and Recreation Lands Trust
Fund (C.A.R.L.). They also suggested the City pursue a line item
1 appropriation through the State Legislature.
The adoption of the attached resolution will formalize the City's
intent and allow the pursuit of,either of these alternatives.
