A RESOLUTION -ALLOCATING FY'84-85 FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS '- APPROPRIATED BY PASSAGE OF ORDINANCE NO. 9901, IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,207 TO THE BELAFONTE TACOLCY CENTER, INC. YOUTH VOCATIONAL PROJECT` -FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING A JOB REFERRAL PLACEMENT AND TRAINING PROJECT TO YOUTH<IN THE MODEL CITY TARGET AREA AND $15,003 TO CATHOLIC COMMUNITY SERVICES, INC.-CENTRO MATER FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING -'A CHILDCARE PROJECT IN THE LITLE HAVANA TARGET AREA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 1985- SEPTEMBER 30, 19851. AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE EXISTING AGREEMENTS WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED AGENCIES, SUBJECT TO THE CITY ATTORNEY'S APPROVAL AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS. WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Motion #84-1270 which expressed intent to allocate $27,207 of FY'84-85 F.R.S. funds to continue operation of the Belafonte Tacolcy Youth Vocational project for the period January i, 1985-September 30, 1985; and WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Motion #84-1269 which expressed intent to allocate $15,003 of FY'84-85 F.R.S. funds to continue operation of the Catholic Community Services -Centro Mater childcare project for the period January 1-September 30, 1985; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. $27,207 of Federal Revenue Sharing funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 9901 is hereby allocated to the Belafonte Tacolcy Youth Vocational project for the period January 1-September 30,1985. J Section 2. $15,003 of Federal Revenue Sharing funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 9901 is hereby allocated to Catholic Community Services -Centro Mater for the period January 1-September 30, 1985. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to amend the existing agreements, subject to the City Attorney's approval as to form and correctness, to continue operation of a job placement and job training project to youth in the Model City Target area and to continue a childcare project in the Little CITY corny" MEETh' lam DEC 19 Havana Target area, subject to the conditions and limitations contained herein. Allocation to BelafonteK Tacolcy Youth Vocational and Catholic Community Services - Centro Mater FROM: Frank Castan eda REFERENCES: Director City Commission Meeting Department of Community Development ENCLOSURES: December 13, 1984 It is recommended that the City Commission adopt a resolution allocating FY'84-85 F.R.S. funds in the amount of $27,207 to the Bet- afonte Tacolcy Youth Vocational Project and $15,003 to the Catholic Community Services Centro Mater childcare project for the period January 1-September 30, 1985. At its meeting of November 8, 1984, the City Commission passed Motion #84-1270 which expressed the Commssion's intent to allocate $27,207 to the Belafonte Tacolcy Youth Vocational.project to continue operation of this project for the period January 1-September 30, 1985. The Youth Vocational project provides job and training referral/placement services'to youth in the Model Cities target area of the City of Miami. If this resolution is adopted, this project would receive $36,276 for the period October 1, 1984-September 30, 1985 (includ- ing the 1/12 allocations for the months of October, November and December). Also, at this same meeting, the Commission passed Potion #84-1269 which expressed the Commission's intent to allocate $15,003 to the Catholic Community Services- Centro Mater childcare project to continue the project for the _ period January 1-September 30, 1985. This project provides childcare services to youth in the Little Havana target area of the City of Miami. Passage of this resolution would result in a total allocation of $20,004 to this project for FY'84-85 (including the 1/12 allocations for the months of October, November and December). Adoption of this resolution would effectuate the action taken by the City Commission through Motion Nos. 84-1269 and 84-1270.
