A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $4500 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, FOR THE COST
OF A RECEPTION AND LUNCHEON 1,1. rE.:'
ON DECEMBER 17, 1984, FOR VENEZUELAN
DIGNITARIES ATTENDING THE DEDICATION OF
THE SIMON BOLIVAR STATUE IN BAYFRONT
PARK.
WHEREAS, a statute of Simon Bolivar will be -dedicated
on December 17, 1984; and
WHEREAS, a reception and luncheon at, an estimated cost of
$4500 has been planned for visiting Venezuelan dignitaries at-
tending the dedication;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $4500 is hereby allocat-
ed from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, for the
cost of a reception and luncheon planned for Venezuelan dignitar-
ies attending the dedication of Simon Bolivar Statue in Bayfront
Park on December 17, 1984.

"It is recommended that $4500 be allo-
cated from Special Programs and Ac-
counts, Contingent Fund, for the cost
of a luncheon and reception for the
dedication of the Simon Bolivar Statue
on December 17, 1984.11
The government of Venezuela donated a seven foot bronze statue of
Simon Bolivar to the City of Miami in 1980. The Department of Parks
and Recreation has installed the statue in Bayfront Park with in-
house labor.
The dedication ceremonies have been scheduled for December 17, 1984.
Several Venezuelan dignitaries will be attending the ceremonies, as
well as the City of Miami Commission. A luncheon and reception have
been planned at an extimated cost of $4500 for these V.I.P.s.
Monies for this project are available from the Special Programs and
Accounts, Contingent Fund.
