HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-1501J-84-1187 1/3/85 RESOLUTION NO. 84-1501 A RESOLUTION CLOSING, VACATING, ABANDONING AND DISCONTINUING THE PUBLIC USE OF THAT PORTION OF THE 10 FOOT ALLEY LOCATED WEST OF THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF VIRGINIA STREET AND + 173 NORTH OF THE ZONED NORTH RIGHT-OF- WAY LINE OF GRAND AVENUE TO ITS CENTER LINE, SAID ALLEY RUNNING WEST FOR A DISTANCE OF + 106.8 FEET, AND THAT PORTION OF A 10' ALLEY BEGINNING + 55 FEET WEST OF THE ABOVE - MENTIONED ALLEY RUNNING WEST FOR A DISTANCE OF + 55 FEET; ALL AS A CONDITION OF APPROVAL OF YENTATIVE PLAT NO. 1245, "COCONUT GROVE ARCADE", SUBJECT TO THE PAYMENT TO THE CITY OF $100,000 FOR USE BY THE CITY FOR CIVIC PROJECTS. WHEREAS, the Miami Zoning Board at its meeting of Novem- ber 19, 1984, Item No. 4, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution ZB-113-84 by a 9 to 0 vote RECOMMENDING official vacation and closure of a portion of a street as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure of the alleys in question and deems it advisable to do so; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That portion of the 10 foot alley located west of the west right-of-way line of Virginia Street and + 173 north of the zoned north right-of-way line of Grand Avenue to its center line, said alley running west for a distance of + 106.8 feet, and that portion of a 10 foot alley beginning + 55 feet west of the above -mentioned alley running west for a distance of + 55 feet; all as a condition of approval of tentative Plat No. 1245 "COCONUT GROVE ARCADE" are hereby closed, vacated, abandoned, and discontinued for public use, subject to the payment to the City of $100,000 for use by the City for civic projects. The Zoning Board, at its meeting of November 19, 1984, Item 4, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution ZB 113-84 by a 9 to 0 vote, recommending approval of the Official Vacation and Closure of a 10' alley located west of the west right-of-way line of Virginia Street and + 173' north of the zoned north right-of-way line of Grand Avenue to its cenTer line said alley running west for a distance of + 106.8', and that portion of a 10' alley beginning + 55' west of the above mentioned alley running west for a distance of + 55 as a condition of approval of Tentative Plat #1245, "COCONUT GROVE ARCADE". Four objections received in the mail; three objectors present at the meeting. Two replies in favor received in the mail; seven proponents present at the meeting.
