TRAFFIC: AND ESTABLISHING A PEDESTRIAN } MALL, SAID STREET CLOSING SUBJECT TO ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPEC- TION SERVICES; FURTHER ESTABLISHING THE AREA PROHIBITED TO RETAIL PEDDLERS DURING THE PERIOD OF THE EVENT. t WHEREAS, Coconut Grove Association, Inc. has planned the 1985 Coconut Grove Arts Festival on February 16-18, 1985; and WHEREAS, the event will take place throughout Coconut Grove and in Peacock and Kenneth Myers Parks, and will include art exhibits, music, food, soft drinks, beer and wine; and WHEREAS, the Coconut Grove Association, Inc. has requested a kx..` three-day permit for February 16-18, 1985, to sell beer and wine in connection with the Coconut Grove Arts Festival; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April 5, 1984, authorized the City Commission to permit the dispensing of beer or wine in soft containers in any City park upon such conditions and limitations as the City Commission shall prescribe; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. A three-day permit to sell beer and wine is hereby granted to Coconut Grove Association, Inc. in connection with the 1985 Coconut Grove Arts Festival to be held throughout Coconut Grove and in Peacock and Kenneth Myers Parks on February 16-18, 1985, in compliance with Ordinance No. 9818. Section 2. In order to effectuate safe passage and establish a temporary pedestrian mall during the 1985 Coconut Grove Arts Festival, the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic on February 16-18, 1985 from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.: South Bayshore Drive from S.W. 27 Avenue to McFarlane Road; McFarlane Road from South Bayshore Drive to Grand Avenue; CITY CG= I ; tSEi�iV MEETING OF JAN 100 10 RLWWTION No. 85w3 I ' . Main Highway from Grand Avenue to Charles Avenue; Fuller Street; Commodore Plaza; in Peacock Park and Kenneth Myers Park such closing of streets being subject to the issuance of permits by the Police Department and the Fire, Rescue, and Inspection Services Department. Section 3. Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 8851, enacted September 28, 1978, all retail peddlers' occupational licenses issued under the provisions of Chapter 31 of the City Code, as amended, will not be valid on February 16-18, 1985 during the hours of 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.: (a) in the above designated area of the festival route and on South Bayshore Drive from S.W. 27 Avenue to McFarlane Road; (b) on McFarlane Road from South Bayshore Drive to Grand Avenue; (c) on Main Highway from Grand Avenue to Charles Avenue; (d) on Fuller Street; (e) on Commodore Plaza; (f) in Peacock Park and Kenneth Myers Park ) PASSED AND ADOPTED this loth day of January , 19815.
