HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-85-0074J-85-127 M85-13 1/10/85 RESOLUTION NO. 85-74 A RESOLUTION'ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,800 FROM THE SUPPLEMENTAL RECREATION BUDGET OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, IN CONNECTION WITH THE JOSE MARTI PARADE AND PARK DEDICATION. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 85-13 was passed on January 10, 1985, allocating $4,500 in connection with the Jose Marti Parade; and WHEREAS, the parade and park dedication have since been combined into a three day event to include sports competitions, the parade and formal dedication ceremony, and entertainment; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the combined parade and park dedication is expected to be $20,300; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $15,800 is hereby allocated from the Supplemental Recreation Budget of the De- artment of Parks and Recreation in connection with the Jose Marti Parade and Park Dedication. Resolution Allocating Funds to the Jose Marti Parade and Park Dedication Carl Kern Director Department of Parks and.-_Reareation "It is recommended that $15,800 be allocated from the Supplemental Re- creation Budget of the Department of Parks and Recreation, in connection with the Jose Marti Parade and Park Dedication to be held on Monday, January 28, 1985, per the attached re- solution." The City Commission passed Resolution No. 85-13 on January 10, 1985, allocating $4500 for the Jose Marti Parade. Since that resolution was written, the parade and the dedication of Jose Marti Park have been combined. The parade will start at Cuban Memorial Boulevard and end in Jose Marti Park on Monday, January 28, 1985. The formal dedication ceremony will be held at 12:00 following the arrival of the parade. The following Saturday, February 2, will feature puppets, mariachis, and music. This combined event is expected to cost $20,300. Monies for the difference between the total and the amount already allocated, or $15,800, are available from the Supplemental Recreation Budget.
