BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION COMMITTEE; FURTHER ALLOCAT- ING A SUM NOT TO EXCEED $2080.08 FROM THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION FOR IN -KIND SERVICES; FURTHER ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40.00 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF LIFE FUND, FOR FEE WAIVERS IN SUPPORT OF THE 1985 MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. PARADE; SAID ALLOCATIONS BEING CONDITIONED UPON -- SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1- 84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984. WHEREAS, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee organized the 1985 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade which took place on January 14, 1985; and WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion No. 85-49 on January 10, 1985, allocated $3500 in support of the parade; and WHEREAS, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee has requested a total of $2080.08 in in - kind services in connection with said parade; and WHEREAS, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee has requested a total of $40.00 in fee waivers in connection with said parade; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $3500 is hereby al- located from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee in support of the 1985 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade which took place on January 14, 1985. Section 2. An amount not to exceed $2080.08 is hereby allocated from the Operating Budget of the Department of Parks and Recreation in support of said event. The City Commission, by Motion No. 85-49 on January 10, 1985, expressed its intent to support the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade, which took place on January 14, 1985. _4 Said support amounted to $3,500 in a cash grant, $2080.08 to cover the cost of in -kind services, and $40 to cover the cost of fee waivers. Funding for this grant is available from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, from the Operating Budget of the Department of Parks and Recreation, and from Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life Fund, respectively. ENCLOSURES: Attached is a resolution and cover memorandum submitted by the Department of Parks and Recreation allocating $3500 in support• of the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade held on January 14, 1985, and further authorizing the provision of in -kind services in the amount of $2080.08, and $40.00 to cover the cost of fee waivers for the parade. - On January 10, 1985, the City Commission, by Motion 85-49, expressed its intent to support this event.
