RESOLUTION NO. 85-154
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING, APPROVING, AND
CONFIRMING THE ALLOCATION OF AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 FROM THE CONTIN-
GENT FUND, SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND AC-
COUNTS, IN SUPPORT OF THE MINI GRAND
PRIX TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 15-17, 1985,
AND FURTHER REQUIRING ALL PROCEEDS TO
BE EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED TO 1) THE URBAN
LEAGUE OF GREATER MIAMI; 2) SWITCH-
BOARD OF MIAMI, INC.; AND 3) LITTLE
HAVANA ACTIVITY AND NUTRITION CENTER;
SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED
UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH THE
CITY OF MIIMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY
NO. APM-1-84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, via Motion 85-57, expressed
its intent to allocate an amount not to exceed $10,000 for the
Mini Grand Prix to be held February 15-17, 1985, in downtown
Miami; and
WHEREAS, all proceeds from this event will be equally
distributed to 1) the Urban League of Greater Miami; 2) Switch-
board of Miami, Inc.; and 3) the Little Havana Activity and
Nutrition Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The allocation of an amount not to exceed
$10,000 from the Contingent Fund, Special Programs and Accounts,
in support of the Mini Grand Prix to be held February 15-17,
1985, is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed.
Section 2. All proceeds from the Mini Grand Prix shall
be equally distributed to 1) the Urban League of Greater Miami;
2) Switchboard of Miami, Inc.; and 3) the Little Havana Activity
and Nutrition Center.
Section 3. The herein allocation is conditioned upon
substantial compliance with City of Miami Administration Policy
No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.

It is recommended that an amount not
to exceed $10,000 be allocated from the
Contingent Fund, Special Programs and
Accounts, in support of the Mini -Grand
Prix, to be held February 15-17, 1985,
requiring all proceeds from said event
to be equally distributed to: 1) the
Urban League of Greater Miami; 2) Switch-
board of Miami, Inc.; and 3) the Little
Havana Activities and Nutrition Center,
as per the attached resolution.
The City Commission, via Motion 85-57, dated January 27, 1985,
expressed their intent to allocate $10,000 in support of the
Mini -Grand Prix to be held February 15-17, 1985, in downtown
Miami.
This event, a racing competition between elected officials and
the media, is a prelude to the spectacular Miami Grand Prix,
bringing much notoriety to the City of Miami.
It is, therefore, recommended that the allocation of $10,000
from the Contingent Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, be
formally ratified as per the attached resolution.
