A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $8►540 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF LIFE FUND, TO COVER
THE COST OF RENTAL AND EVENT PERSONNEL
FOR THE COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER
FOR A DANCE TO BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 22,
1985 BY THE OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY;
SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF
MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-
84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS, the City Commission by Motion 85-1, adopted January
10, 1985, directed the City Manager to waive the rental fee for
the use of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center for a dance
sponsored by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The sum of $8,540 is hereby allocated from
Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life Fund, to cover the
cost of rental and event personnel at the Coconut Grove
Exhibition Center for a dance to be held on February 22, 1985 by
the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Section 2. The herein allocation is conditioned upon
substantial compliance with City of Miami administrative policy
No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.

ENCLOSURES:
It is recommended that the City Commission
adopt a resolution allocating $8,540 from
Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of
Life Fund, to cover the rental fees and
event personnel at the Coconut Grove
Exhibition Center for a dance to be held
February 22, 1985, sponsored by the Omega �—
Psi Phi Fraternity. This formalizes
Motion 85-1, passed January 10, 1985.
On January 10, 1985, the City Commission passed Motion 85-1,
expressing its intent to allocate $8,540 to cover the rental
fees and event personnel at the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center
—, for a dance to be held on February 22, 1985, sponsored by the
(mega Psi Phi Fraternity.

The attached resolution formalizes Motion 85-1. Funds to cover
the $8,540 rental fees and event personnel are available from
Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life Fund.

During the January 10, 1985 Ccnnu.ssion Meeting, Item Nine was a resolution
formalizing the allocation of funds to cover the cost of waiving the fees
of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
requested a waiver of fees. Would you put the formalizing motion on the
January 24, 1985 CaTimission Agenda in the same mariner Item Nine was done
on January 10, 1985.
The total estimate is about $8,600.00

On December 11, 1984 we forwarded 4 resolutions formalizing
requests for.special funding (Motion Nos. 84-969, 84-1194,
84-1256 and 84-1302) and requested that they be placed on the
January 10, 1985 City Commission Consent Agenda. After a
phone conversation with Este Avalos of Community Development,
we made changes in two of the Resolutions and have formalized
an additional motion (M84-964). Please substitute the
attached 5 resolutions for the 4 resolutions previously sent.

ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF LIFE FUND, TO COVER
THE COST OF WAIVING THE RENTAL FEE OF THE
COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER FOR A
DANCE HELD SEPTEMBER 15, 1984 IN
CONNECTION WITH THE 26TH ANNIVERSARY OF
MR. ALEXIS FARIS, A DISTINGUISHED RADIO
PERSONALITY IN THIS COMMUNITY, SAID
ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF M.IAMI
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED
JANUARY 24, 1984.

Section 1. The sum of $4,500 is hereby allocated
from Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life Fund, to
cover the cost of waiving the rental fee of the Coconut Grove
Exhibition Center for a dance held September 15, 1984 in
connection with the 26th Anniversary of Mr. Alexis Faris, a
distinguished radio personality in this community.
Section 2. The herein allocation is conditioned upon
substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative
Policy No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.
