GENERATION/9 CUBAN-AMERICAN ARTISTS;

SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONTINGENT UPON AN
EQUAL OR GREATER MATCHING GRANT
ALLOCATION BY METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY

AND UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH
CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO.
APM-1-84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS,
the Miami Generation has planned The Miami
Generation/9
Cuban -American Artists art exhibition in Phila-
delphia, Pennsylvania
at the Balch Institute of Ethnic Studies
from February
8, 1985 through April 24, 1985; and
WHEREAS, The Miami Generation/9 Cuban -American Artists art
exhibition will provide positive visibility for Miami; and
—
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion No.85-52 on January
10, 1985, expressed its intent to allocate $1,000 in support of
The Miami Generation/9 Cuban -American Artists art exhibition

conditioned upon an equal or greater matching grant allocation by
Metropolitan Dade County;_
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY

OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $1,000 is hereby

allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, to
The Miami Generation in support of The Miami Generation/9 Cuban-

American Artists art exhibition to be held in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania from February 8, 1985 through April 24, 1985.

Section 2. The herein allocation is contingent upon equal or

greater matching grant allocation by Metropolitan Dade County and

upon substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative
Policy No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of February 1985.

ENCLOSURES:
Attached is a re-so-lution and cover memorandum submitted by the Depart-
ment of Parks and Recreation allocating $1,000 in support of the
above referenced event, which will be held in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, from February 8, 1985 through April 24, 1985.
On January 10, 1985, by Motion 85-54, the City Commission expressed
its intent to allocate $1,000 in support of this event, to help
defray the cost of printing a catalog for the art exhibit.
If this item meets with your approval, it may be placed on the
February 14, 1985 agenda.
