RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING, APPROVING, AND
CONFIRMING THE ALLOCATION OF $1,000.00
FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS,
CONTINGENT FUND, FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TWO HUNDRED FIFTY (250) TICKETS FOR THE
ANNUAL METRO-MIAMI POLICE "PIG BOWL"
FOR DISTRIBUTION AMONG UNDERPRIVILEDGED
CHILDREN AS A COMMUNITY RELATIONS GES-
TURE FROM THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the law enforcement departments of the City of
Miami and Metro -Dade County, jointly, hosted the Annual "Pica
Bowl" as a fund raising effort; and
WHEREAS, as a gesture of good public relations, the City
Commission, via Motion No. 84-54, authorized funding for the
purchase of 250 tickets for distribution among underpriviledged
children in our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE ;
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The allocation of $1,000.00 from Special
Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, for the purchase of
two hundred fifty (250) "Pig Bowl" tickets for distribution

among underpriviledqed children in our community is hereby ra-
tified, approved, and confirmed.

Purchase of Pig Bowl Tickets

It is recommended that $1,000 be allocated
from Special Programs and Accounts Contin-
gent Fund, for the purchase of two hundred
fifty (250) tickets to the Annual Metro -
Miami Police "Pig Bowl" for distribution •
among underpriviledge children as a commu-
nity relations gesture from the City, as
per the attached resolution.
The law enforcement departments of the City of Miami and Metro
Dade County jointly hosted the 2nd Annual "Pig Bowl", January
12, 1985.
As a gesture of good public relations, the City Commission, via
Motion 85-54, approved the purchase of two hundred fifty (250)
tickets for distribution among underpriviledge children who
would otherwise not have the opportunity to witness this rivalry.
The Departmentsof Police and Parks and Recreation were -respon-
sible for distributing tickets to deserving youth in the Over -
town, Liberty City, and Little Havana areas.
It is, therefore, recommended that the allocation of $1,000 from
Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, for the purchase
of two hundred fifty (250) "Pig Bowl" tickets, be formally ra-
tified as per attached resolution.
