FOR FURNISHING CUSTODIAL AND GROUND MAINTENANCE SERVICES AT THE COMPUTER DEPARTMENT ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR RENEWABLE ANNUALLY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AT A TOTAL PROPOSED FIRST YEAR COST OF $8,055.60; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1984-85 OPERATING BUDGET OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received December 17, 1984 for the furnishing of custodial and ground maintenance services at the Computer Department to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 70 potential suppliers and 10 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1984-85 Operating Budget of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of providing regular custodial and ground maintenance services at the Computer Department; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from Industrial Building Maintenance Corp. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 14IAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The December 17, 1984 bid of Industrial Building Maintenance Corp. for furnishing regular custodial and ground maintenance services at the Computer Department to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for a total proposed first year amount of $8,055.60 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1984-85 Operating Budget --. of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance. December 17, 1984 for furnishing Computer Supplies - Tapes, ribbons, labels, disks, and the like - as needed, on a contract basis to the Department of Computers. Ordinance No. 9775 established a goal of Awarding 50% of the City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and Services to Black and Hispanic Minority Business Enterprises on an equal basis. Minority Vendors who are interested in submitting bids and who are not registered with the City as minority vendors are advised to contract the City Purchasing Office, 1145 N.W. 11th Street, Room 126, Telephone 579-6380.
