E3Jr""'1�7 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $12,500 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, IN SUPPORT OF A CONFERENCE, ENTITLED "THE FUTURE OF URBAN AMERICA: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES", SPONSORED BY MIAMI DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, TO BE HELD IN THE NEAR FUTURE; SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH THE CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984. WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion 85-100 passed on February 14, 1985, expressed its intent to allocate an amount not to exceed $12,500, for a conference entitled "The Future of Urban America: Challenges and Opportunities" sponsored by Miami Dade Community College, to be held in the near future; and WHEREAS, the City Commission stipulated that the allocation be conditioned upon the College receiving matching funds from Dade County; and WHEREAS, said allocation was further conditioned on the attendance of a minimum of five (5) mayors from cities similar to Miami, at least one of whom is to be affiliated with the Republican Party: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $12,500 from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, is hereby allocated in support of a conference entitled "The Future of Urban America: Challenges and Opportunities" to be held in the near future and sponsored by Miami Dade Community College. Section 2. The herein allocation is conditioned upon the Community College receiving matching funds from Metropolitan Dade County. Section 3. The allocation is further conditioned upon the attendance of a minimum of five (5) mayors from cities similar to Miami, at least one of whom is to be affiliated with the Republican Party. Said allocation further conditioned upon substantial compliance with Administrative Policy APM-1-84 dated January 24, 1984. This action formalizes Motion 85-87 passed on February 14, 1985. On February 14, 1985, the City Commission, by Motion 85-87, expressed its intent to allocate $12,500 in support of a conference entitled "The Future of Urban America: Challenges and Opportunities" which is being sponsored by Miami Dade Community College on March 16, 1985. The Commission conditioned its support on the Community College receiving an equal contribution for the conference from Metropolitan Dade County and confirming the attendance of at least five mayors from cities similar to Miami, some of whom are to be affiliated with the Republican Party. The attached resolution formalizes Motion 85-87 by allocating $12,500 from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, with the conditions stipulated by the City Commission. toC/mc
