Department of Parks
and Recreation ENCLOSURES:
It is recommended that Presidio Politico
Historico Cubano be granted authorization
for placement of a monument in a City park,
and further changing the designated site
from Jose Marti Park to Riverside Park, as
per the attached resolution.
On October 25, 1985, Presidio Politico Historico Cubano requested
before the City Commission authorization for placement of a monu-
ment in the City of Miami Jose Marti Park. Approval was granted
via Motion 84-1199.
Subsequent meetings between the Presidio Politico Historico Cubano
and the Department of Parks and Recreation revealed the fact that
the desired park was actually Riverside, not Jose Marti. The cost
for the placement of the monument will be borne by the Presidio
Politico organization.
it is, therefore, recommended that the authorization for placement
of a monument by said organization at Riverside Park be formally
ratified as per the attached resolution.
