HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-85-0293F J-85-228 7A RESOLUTION NO. 85--293 A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE SALE OF BEER AND WINE FOR A TWO-DAY PERIOD BY THE FRIENDS OF THE JAPANESE GARDEN IN CONNECTION WITH THE JAPANESE SPRING FESTIVAL TO BE HELD AT WATSON ISLAND PARK ON APRIL21 AND 22, 1985; SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF ALL REQUIRED PERMITS. WHEREAS, the Friends of the Japanese Garden have planned the Japanese Spring Festival on April 21 and 22, 1985, to benefit the Japanese Garden; and WHEREAS, the event will take place in Watson Island Park and will include Japanese arts, crafts, and food; and WHEREAS, the Friends of the Japanese Garden have requested permission to sell beer and wine for a two-day period of April 21 t and 22, 1985, in connection with the Japanese Spring Festival; i and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April 5, 1984, authorized the City Commission to permit the dispensing of beer or wine in soft containers in any City park upon such conditions and limitations as the City Commission shall prescribe; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Permission to sell beer and wine for a two-day period is hereby granted to the Friends of the Japanese Garden in connection with the Japanese Spring Festival to be held at Watson Island Park on April 21 and 22, 1985, in compliance with Ordinance No. 9818, and subject to the issuance of all required permits. The Friends of the Japanese Garden have planned the Japanese Spring _ Festival as a fundraising event for the Japanese Garden on April 21 and 22, 1985. This event features Japanese music, dancing, art, crafts, and food, and will be held in Watson Island Park adjacent to the Garden. The Organizers have requested permission to sell beer = and wine in the park during the event.
