J-85-278 # RESOLUTION NO. irJ-25'� A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MIAMI INTERNATIONAL LAWN & JANITORIAL SERVICE FOR FURNISHING CUSTODIAL SERVICES AT THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR RENEWABLE ANNUALLY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AT A TOTAL PROPOSED FIRST YEAR COST OF $116,412.24; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1984-85 OPERATING BUDGET OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER r0 ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 12, 1984 for the furnishing of custodial services at the Miami Police Department Building to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 80 potential suppliers and 17 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1984-85 Operating Budget of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of providing regular continous custodial services at the Miami Police Department Building; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from Miami International Lawn & Janitorial Service be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section I. The October 12, 1984 bid of Miami International Lawn & Janitorial Service for furnishing custodial services at the Miami Police Department Building to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for a total proposed first year amount of $116,412.24 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1984-85 Operating Budget of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance.
