A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF NOTHING,
INC.FOR FURNISHING REMOVAL OF ABANDONED
VEHICLES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE
ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR RENEWABLE
ANNUALLY; WITH PAYMENT TO THE CITY OF
$21.50 PER EACH VEHICLE REMOVED AT A TOTAL
ESTIMATED REVENUE TO THE CITY OF
$25,800.001 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PROCUREMENT
OFFICER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR THIS
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received January 7, 1985 for the furnishing of Removal of
Abandoned Vehicles on a contract basis for one (1) year renewable
annually to the Department of Solid Waste; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 40 potential
suppliers and 1 bid was received; and
WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of
Solid Waste for the purpose of sanitation enforcement; and
WHEREAS, this service will produce revenue to the City
in an estimated total amount of $25,600.00; and
WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Solid Waste recommend that the bid received from
Nothing, Inc. be accepted as the only responsible and responsive
bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The January 7, 1985 bid of Nothing, Inc.
for furnishing removal of abandoned vehicles to the Department of
Solid Waste on a contract basis for one year renewable annually,
with payment to the City of $21.50 per vehicle removed, at a
total estimated revenue to the City of $25,800.00.

to instruct the Assistant Chief Procurement Officer to execute an
agreement for this service.

RFP No. 64-85-09
Sealed proposals will be received by the City Manager and City_,
Clerk of the City of Miami, Florida not later than:2:00 P.M._
January 7, 1985 for furnishing All Labor, Materials and iquipment
as required for Removal of Abandoned Vehiles on a contract basis
for the Department of Solid Waste.
Ordinance No. 9775 established a goal of Awarding 50% of the
City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and
Services to Black and Hispanic Minority Business Enterprises on
an equal basis.
Minority Vendors who are interested in submitting proposals and
who are not registered with the City as minority vendors are
advised to contact the City Purchasing Office, 1145 N.W. llth
Street, Room 126, Telephone 579-6380.
Detailed specifications for the proposal are available upon
request at the City Purchasing Office.
The City Manager may reject all proposals and readvertise.

"It is recommended that the bid for towing
abandoned vehicles from the City be awarded to
"Nothing, In." inasmuch as this company is
currently used by the City for this purpose
and were the only bidder, in the amount of
$21.50 per vehicle towed, which is payable to
the City."
As it is necessary and prescribed by the Code of the City of Miami
that the Department of Solid Waste remove abandoned vehicles from the
City, the above -captioned bid is necessary to procure the services of
a: a private firm to do the actual towing.
The above -captioned bid was returned with two (2) "no bids" and One
(1) legitimate bid, that being by the incumbent, "Nothing, Irc."
Their bid is for $21.30 per vehicle,which is paid to the City.
Since the services of this company have been satisfactory over the
past years, we recommend the awarding of this bid to "Nothing, Inc."
