A RESOLUTION CLOSING CERTAIN
STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC AND ESTABLISHING A
PEDESTRIAN MALL DURING SPECIFIED
HOURS FOR THE CLEAN-UP, PAINT UP?
FIX UP PARADE; SAID STREET CLOSING
SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS
BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND
FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION
SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's Committee on Beautification and
Environment has planned a Clean Up, Paint Up, Fix Up Parade for
May 3, 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section I. In order to provide safe passage and a temporary
pedestrian mall during the Clean -Up, Paint Up, Fix Up Parade the
following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic
on May 3, 1985, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM:
a) Flagler Street from Biscayne Boulevard
to NW 1st Avenue.
b) All streets and avenues intersecting
the area listed above.

Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to the
issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue
• and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of
Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of
Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and
traffic needs of residents, businesses and religious institutions
in the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and

SUBJECT: Streets for the Clean -Up,
Paint -Up, Fix -Up Parade

ENCLOSURES:
"It is recommended that certain
streets be closed for the
Clean -Up, Paint -Up, Fix -Up
Parade on May 3, 1985, in
Downtown Miami, per the
attached resolution."
The City of Miami's Committee on Beautification and Environment has
planned the 1985 Clean -Up, Paint -Up, Fix -Up Parade for May 3, 1985.
The Parade will start at 11:00 AM at the intersection of Flagler
Street and Biscayne Boulevard. It will proceed across Flagler Street
to the Courthouse where it will end at noon.
The Parade will consist of sanitation trucks, floats from the private
sector, a high school marching band, city officials and employees.
It will serve to focus public attention on the efforts to keep Miami
clean and the importance of continuous work in that area.
The Parks and Recreation Department recommends that Flagler Street be
closed for this event per the attached resolution.
