OF FLORIDA, INC. a Non -Profit Organization, FOUNDED IN 1982 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ASSISTANCE AND PRESERVING the Dominican culture and heritage and UNITING the thousands of Dominican residents living in the area of GREATER MIAMI and DADE COUNTY. - We hereby come before you to request the use of the JOSE MARTI PARK located at 4th Street SW and 4th Ave. SW. Miami, for the celebration of the 122nd ANNIVERSARY of the "Restauracion de Is Republica" (August 16, 1863). All the Dominican Community will unite in the celebration and obser- vance of this historic date by the celebration of a Gran Festival Cultural Dominico-Americano jointly with members of the Hispanic community. See tentative Program of Activities. We wish to celebrate the Festival from 12:PM to 10:PM at the JOSE MARTI PARK and thus solicit the use of the facilities of same, subject to the issuance of all required permits, and allowing the sale of Beer, Wine and soft -drinks. The issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire Rescue, and Inspection Services establishing the area prohibited to retail peddlers during the period of the Festival celebration. Further authorizing the City Manager to execute the August 18, 1985 Festival concession agreement with this herein stated organization, subject to the approval of the City Attorney. The Queen of the Dominican Festival will cut, together with the CITY OFFICIALS, the ribbon starting the Festival.
