HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-85-0517d7�Py� J-85-438 0 RESOLUTION NO. 85'-51 i'_, A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF HEWLETT- PACKARD COMPANY FOR FURNISHING A MICROWAVE FREQUENCY COUNTER, MICROWAVE SIGNAL GENERATOR, SIGNAL GENERATOR, DISTORTION MEASUREMENT SET, 100 MHz UNIVERSAL COUNTER, AM/FM SIGNAL GENERATOR, FUNCTION GENERATOR, AND AN AC VOLTMETER AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $46,345.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1984-85 OPERATING BUDGET OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received February 13, 1985 for the furnishing of Communications Equipment to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 22 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1984-85 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of supporting maintenance on the new City -Wide 800 MHz communications equipment; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Director of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from Hewlett-Packard Company be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section I. The February 13, 1985 bid of Hewlett- Packard Company for furnishing a Microwave Frequency Counter, Microwave Signal Generator, Signal Generator, Distortion Measurement Set, 100 MHz Universal Counter, AM/FM/ Signal Generator, Function Generator, and an AC Voltmeter at a total proposed amount of $46,345.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1984-85 Operating Budget of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance. Cushman bid was a partial bid and the equipment proposed did not meet frequency range specifications. Motorola was low bidder on Item #3 but did not meet maximum frequency range specifications. Hewlett-Packard was the lowest and respon- sive bid for all eight items. It is the recommendation of this Department that the award be made to Hewlett-Packard Company for the eight items of communications equipment. This communications test equipment to be purchased will be used to support maintenance on the new City -Wide 800 MHz communications system. Funds for this purchase are available in the 1985 operating of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance in the Equipment account of the Communication Services Division.
