Honorable Sergio Pereira* City Manager,
As you may be aware, the Miami Senior High School MILLION DOLLAR BAND has
received an invitation from the Mexican government to participate in the
Fifteenth Annual Mexican Invitational Band Festival representing our Nation,
State, The City of Miami, and all residents of our great community.
Again, we find ourselves on the road fund raising in order to facilitate
this trip and to afford this wonderful opportunity to the students who
otherwise would not be able to take this trip. In 1983, the MILLION DOLLAR
BAND made all of us proud when they marched down Broadway celebrating the
famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, nationally televised by CBS and NBC.
This publicity brought many positive thoughts of our State and City! Our
trip to Mexico will bring about similar positive feelings that are much
needed between our two countries.
Any assistance that you can give us will be greatly appreciated. On behalf _
of all the students who will benefit from your concern and generosity, may
we offer our most sincere thanks.
Franklin Carrillo, President
