APPROVED SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS, ONE (1)
HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM AND ONE (1)
HOUSING PROGRAM PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED IN
RESOLUTION NO. 85-457 WHICH AUTHORIZED
THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT
APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE
PROPOSED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING
JULY 1, 1985 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1986,
CONDITIONING THE ALLOCATION TO THE
NATIONAL PUERTO RICAN FORUM, INC. ON THE
AGENCY RECEIVING A STATE GRANT FOR THE
PROJECT, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER AGREEMENTS WITH CERTAIN
AGENCIES FOR SAID APPROVED PROJECTS IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 85-457 on
April 18, 1985, thereby authorizing the City Manager to submit a
grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development for the proposed Community Development Block Program
during 1985-86; and
WHEREAS, funds have previously been appropriated by Ordinance
No. 9991, passed and adopted May 9, 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. $1,542,908 of Eleventh Year Community Development
Block Grant funds, previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 9991
adopted May 9, 1985, are hereby allocated as specified below:

SECTION 2. The allocation to the National Puerto Rican
Forum, Inc. is contingent upon the Agency receiving a state grant
of $56,000 to operate a placement project for dislocated workers.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into agreements, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with
the aforementioned agencies to implement their respective social
service, historic preservation and housing projects, subject to

It is recommended that the City
Commission adopt a resolution which
formalizes the Commission's intent
to allocate $1,542,908 of Eleventh
Year Community Development Block
Grant Funds to previously approved
agencies to operate eighteen (18)
social service projects, one (1)
historic preservation project and
one (1) housing project identified
in Resolution 85-457 which
authorized the City Manager to
submit a grant application to the .
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development for the Community
Development Block Grant Program for
1985-86.
At its meeting of April 18, 1985, the City Commission authorized' the
City Manager to submit an application to the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development for the proposed 1985-86 Community Development
Block Grant Program. The application included $1,542,908 for agencies
operating eighteen (18) social services projects, one (1) historic
preservation project and one (1) housing project.
The attached resolution formalizes the intent of the City Commission to
allocate the aforementioned $1,542,908 to previously approved agencies.
Included in this resolution is an allocation of $57, 000 to the National
Puerto Rican Forum as a cash match to operate a placement program for
dislocated workers. This allocation is contingent on the National
Puerto Rican Forum receiving a state grant of $56,000 for the project.
