"It is recommended that the City Commission
authorize the City Manager to amend an agree-
ment, in a form acceptable to the City Attor-
ney, with the Barnett Bank of South Florida,
N.A., for the purpose of extending the ter-
mination date of the Agreement from April 15,
1985 to June 1, 1985 in order to complete the
printing and publication of the Miami Busi-
ness Report 1983-84".
On September 20, 1984 the City Commission passed Resolution No.84-
1073 authorizing the Department of Economic Development to produce
and publish the Miami Business Report 1983-84 with the financial
assistance of the Barnett Bank of South Florida, N.A. It was
stated in the agreement that both the English and Spanish versions
of the Miami Business Report 1983-84 were to be printed by January
1, 1985. However, the Spanish language edition was not completed
on the date which was indicated in the agreement.
The City Commission adopted Resolution 85-283 on March 21, 1985,
extending the termination date of the agreement from January 1,
1985 to April 15, 1985.
Despite an extension in time, unexpected technical problems related
to the typesetting of the Spanish version by the City of Miami's
Print Shop made it impossible to publish the MBR on April 15, 1985
as amended in Amendment No.1.
It is therefore recommended that the City extend the termination
date of the agreement from April 15, 1985 to June 1, 1985 in order
to complete the printing and publication of the Spanish edition of
the Miami Business Report 1983-84.
