Gentlemen:
Please be advised that on Sunday, July 14, 1985 the Alliance Francaise de Miami
and the French Consulate General are organizing the celebration of "BASTILIE DAY"
which commemorates the birth of democracy in France in 1789. We expect to have
about 2,500 guests attend our outdoor "Bal Musette".
We are writing this letter to obtain your authorization for the Bastille Day Cele-
bration to be held in Peacock Park in Coconut Grove. We understand from the
Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce that no otber event is scheduled that day in
Peacock Park. The Coconut Grove Chamber has given us its full support for this
event.
The Bastille Day Celebration is a very well organized event and we have secured
the services of ten City of Miami Policemen.
We have, as in the past, scheduled a fireworks display for our Bastille Day Cele-
bration. A pezmit has been applied for with the City of Miami Fire Marshall by
Mr. Ted Walker, Pyrotechnician of A.D. Fire, Inc. It is our understanding that
your authorization must also be obtained to allow us to have this fireworks display
take place after 9:00 p.m. We expect the display to begin at 10:00 p.m.
Again, your authorization for the use of Peacock Park on Sunday, July 14, 1985
and for the display of fireworks would be very much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely yours,
THIERR
