A RESOLUTION GRANTING, SUBJECT TO
THE t8SUANCE OF A TEMPORARY PERMIT
BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
OF REVENUE, DIVISION OF ALCOHOL,
AND TOBACCO, T1.8 REQUEST OF AMIGOS
DE MADRID TO SELL BEER AND WINE
FOR A ONE -DAY PERIOD IN CONNECTION
WITH THE LA PALOMA FESTIVAL TO BE
HELD ON AUGUST 11, 1985 IN JOSF:
MARTI PARK; FURTHER AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A ONE -
DAY NONEXCLUSIVE CONCESSION
AGREEMENT WITH THE ORGANIZATION I1f
A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, Amigos de Madrid has planned the "La Paloma"
Festival on August 11, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the event will take place in Joss Marti Park and
will include the sale of foods and beverages; and
WHEREAS, Amigos de Madrid has requested permission to sell
beer and wine for a one -day period of August 11, 1985, in
connection with the event; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April 5, 1984, authorized the
City Commission to permit the dispensing of beer or wine in soft
containers in any City park upon such conditions and limitations
as the City Commission shall prescribe;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. Upon the issuance of a temporary permit by the
Florida State Department of Business Regulation, Division of
Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, to sell beer and wine, and
pursuant to the City Code , the request of Amigos de Madrid to
sell beer and wine for a one -day period in connection with the
"La Paloma Festival" to be held at Jose Marti Park on August 11,
1985, is hereby granted in compliance with Ordinance No. 9818,
further subject to the issuance of all permits required by law.
Section 2, The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
one -day nonexclusive cOn�ession agreement, in a fsrntacceptable

BACKGROUND:
Amigos de Madrid has planned the "La Paloma Festival", similar to the
popular celebration in Madrid, Spain, for August 119 1985, in Jose

Marti Park, The event will occur between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM and
include several stands selling Spanish foods and beverages.

The organization has requested that it beallowedto sell beer and _

wine in the park in connection with the event, The Parks and
Recreation Department has recommended that the request be granted,

licenses, The Department has also recommended that a one -day non-
