Pursuant to the issuanceofBid #84-85-62, a total of six (6) bids were received for providing 'air conditioning maintenance at the City's computer facility. The responding bidders are composed of four (4) minority firms and two (2) non -minority firms. These bids have been carefully analyzed by this Depart- ment and it is determined that Total Air Services, Inc., a minority firm, has submitted the lowest responsible and respon- sive bid. The providing of air conditioning maintenance at the Computer Building is of major significance. This is because of the constant temperature requirements for the computer equipment used at this 'location. Therefore, the air conditioner must be 6 maintained efficiently, effectively, and of most importance, promptly. Any weakness in the maintenance of this system will have a negative effect on Computer operations. The further effect of the improper functioning of this equipment has an= adverse impact on the city's emergency and non -emergency ser- vice providers. it is therefore requested that this award be made to the recommended vendor at the cost as indicated. Funds are available for this award in the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department's Fiscal Year 184-85 budget, k AWARb L an Bid v, 6.84 '89"62 C ITEM.
