Hig-hlights of the attached policy are as follows: 1) There will be two categories under which City support can be requested: I Community Programs and Events, with a maximum amount granted of $10,000 of cash and/or in - kind City services. These requests shall be considered quarterly and are awarded one time only Tourist and Economic Development Activities, with a maximum amount of $50,000 cash and/or in -kind City services granted. These requests will be considered on an annual basis. 2) A special Programs and Events Review Committee will be appointed by the City Manager to consist of the following representatives: City Departments: Community Development, (responsible coordination of this process) Parks and Recreation Economic Development Management and Budget for the administrative Three (3) Community representatives with expertise/background in the following areas: - Marketing/promotion - Cultural Programs - Finances M o T-/' d N es-s45. This year, all proposals for Tourist and Fconf>►nic Development activities will be accepted and evaluated during the month of August. In subsequent years, applications will be accepted in April and recommendations for funding will be made during the annual budget process. The criteria discussed by the City Commission for evaluating funding requests at its July 18 meeting are included in the attached policy. If this policy meets with the approval of the City Commission, administrative procedures for immediate implementation of the policy and an application form will be developed. Funding recommendations will be submitted to the City Commission in September. SS-84S.
