Since all advertisement copy must be in the publisher's hand by
August 15, 1985 to meet the October 6, 1985 publishing deadline, it
is necessary at this time that an emergency purchase be made by the
City Commission. The unique and specialized nature of this
particular advertising source has precluded any other reasonable
source of supply.
Recommendation
It is therefore recommended that the City Commission approve the
attached resolution ratifying, approving and confirming the the
emergency action of the City Manager in allocating an amount not to
exceed $12,000 to cover the cost of placing a one -page, four color
advertisement in the October 6, 1985 issue of the French magazine
%'EXPRESS" with funds therefor allocated from the Special Programs
and Accounts, Contingent Fund.
