Teasdale, P.E. and Ellis -Snyder - Associates, Inc. so that the construction plans for Dinner Key Marina Renovation and Expansion can be completed and construction begun at the earliest possible date. The allocation is to be paid from Dinner Ivey Marina Retained Earnings The City Commission by Resolution 82-1040, dated `1ovember 4 1982 authorized the City Manager to execute an agreement with Greenleaf-Telesca, Planners, Engineers and Architects for the Planning and Design of the Dinner Key Marina Project. The firm of Greenleaf-Telesca declared bankruptcy and ceased doing business as of February 8, 1985 with 95 percent of the construction plans complete. Since that time permission has been received from the State Board of Engineers to enter into an agreement with another firm in order to have the design completed. Numerous engineering firms expressed an interest in providing services and the two firms mentioned above are considered to be the most qualified to perform the necessary work. These firms must review the existing plans, check previous calculations, complete the plans, then seal them so that _permits can be obtained and the project put under construction. I 'layor and . tubers of the City Commission Page 2 once these firms start their review it is believed that the City will be able to request bids in approximately two months. This includes time for City staff to review the completed plans. There exists an urgent need to proceed with the construction plans so that construction on the project can begin this year.
