Dear Mayor Ferre:
This is to recuest an appearance at the first meeting of the City
Commission on September ]A, 1985 to discuss modification to the
Miami Design District Development Plan.
Specifically, we are recmesting an addition to the plan which would
consist of installation of twelve decorative guard houses located
at strategic points and staffed with private security guards to
improve the entryways, adding a mall -like atmosphere to the district
and to irrprove security in the district.
We are currently working with the City staff from the Department of
Economic Development and Planning to finalize a proposal for your
review at the September meeting. As soon as this proposal is
complete, we will provide a copy to you.
We conclude it would be of utmost importance that changes be made to
the District to ensure the stability, economic growth and the vitality
t of the Design District.
