VIII. continued The Orange Blossom Classic has traditionally been an aggressive promoter of 1,L.ami and environs, therefore conceivable it will attract in excess of 125,000 people including more than 40,000 from out of Metropolitan Dade County, during the 1985 Festivi- ties. The 1981 and 1982 parades were attended by over 200,000. The games were attended by over 30,000 people. The average visitor to the area during Ih e four day event spends an average of $ 75.00 to $ 100.00 per day; therefore, tine classic is not only a competitive sports event/festival, Lut is also an economic bonus to the community. It is therefore recommended that the Cit! contribute 40,000 cash toward these activities and that additionally the Publicity and Promotional Depa--tnents promote, advertise and sell t1he Orange Blossom Classic local!%_, nationall•.7 and is ternationally, . -h- JuGC:eStS an csti:mate of In-lkind `unds of 10, C00.00- 0 r 2 7.
