WHEREAS, BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ, Vice May,r ,f the City r,f South Miami is a candidate for Second Vice President of the Florida League ,f Cities which is meeting in cr,rver,ti ,r in H,llywr,,d, Flrjrida ,r, October 10-12, 1985; ar,d WHEREAS, Vice Mayr,r BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ has been elected t, the City ,f South Miami City C,urcil for sever, (7) c,rse-cutive terms during which time she has served the residents ,f her City with great distincti,r.; and WHEREAS, BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ has beer. an active member ,f the Dade County League ,f Cities for elever ( 1 1 ) years and has - held every elective office in the League having the h,ror and distinction of being elected as the first w,mar, President in the history of the Dade League and is presently serving as a member ,f its Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ actively participated in the Dade County League of Cities' legislative program and assisted with the Dade County Delegation ,f the Florida League of Cities' legislative program; and WHEREAS, BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ has actively participated and attended all Florida League of Cities' conventions during the time she has held office, and is presently serving as a member of the Florida League of Cities' Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ has served with distirctir,r as a member of the South Florida Regional Planr,ir.g Council from 1982 to present, and as a member of the Council, is reviewing the develrpment plans for the new stadium and development project fcr the Miami Dolphins; and CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF SEP 12 085 U110 Nu. Miami Citizens Against Crime The Program Committee, Dade Partners for Youth The Overall Economic Development Program Committee The Metropolitan Ir,tergcvernmer,tal Policy Cornmittee WHEREAS, BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ was elected President of the American Judges' Foundation. it 1983 and was voted the Most Outstanding Woman in Dade County in 1982 by the Taxpayers League Association; and WHEREAS, the Mayer and City Commission of the City of Miami convey their high regard for South Miami Vice Mayor BETTY ANDREWS LANTZ for her ability and diligence and wish to endorse her for Second Vice -President for the Florida League of Cities and to encourage all Dade County Cities and other Florida municipalities to endorse her for the office of Second Vice - President cf the Florida League of Cities; NOW, THEREFORE/BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1.
