CIT[ZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIl,NDS OF MIAMI
POLICE OFFICER MANUEL 1,0PE7, UPON HIS TRAGIC
DEATH.
WHEREAS, Miami Police Officer. Man,lel. Lopez joined the
Denar_tment in 1982 and served with ;listinction as a City of Miami
Police Officer; .and
WHEREAS, his active dutv was walkinci a hr�at in Downtown
Miami where he gained the respect and love of the residents and
merchants in the area; and
WHEREAS, Officer Lopez Iie(l on August 17, 1985 from
injuries sustained in a traffic_ accident; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami and its citizens to expr_c�ss its deepest
sympathy to the family and friends of Manuel Loper;
NOW, THEREFORE, HF IT RESOLVED BY THE: cokimISSION of THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Sectio❑ 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of
Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and
friends of City of Miami Police Officer_ Manuel Lopez its deepest
sympathy and sincerest condolences, upon his tra(Iic death.
Section 2. This Resolution is offered by the City
Commission as a token of its respect and esteem.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th clay of SEPTEMBER , 1985.
