FLORIbA INFER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM 38 The Honorable Mayor and Members of t Commission FROM: Sergio Perei City Manager GATE: OCT T v! 4 1985 FILE: su9JECT Appointment of Members to the Commission on the Status o f Women REFERENCES - ENCLOSURES Attached is a draft resolution for the appointment of three members to the Commission on the Status of Women. The City of Miami Commission on the Status of Women consist of 20 members avPointed by the City Commission. The length of term is unspecified. Five vacancies existed in April due to the resigna- tion of three members and the removal of two other names that were certified to the Commission because of three consecutive absences. On May 9, 1985 the City Commission, by Resolution No. 85-476, filled two of the five vacancies with the appointment of Anna M. Carnesoltas and Barbara Ibarra. Recommendations to fill vacancies on the Commission on the Status of Women shall be submitted to the City Commission for considera- tion. Such recommendations should reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of the women in the City of Miami. Attached is a list of current members identified by ethnicity. Also attached are the application forms and personal biographies of the nominees. I am recommending the appointment of one Hispanic and two Blacks to fill the three vacancies. These appointments would complete the 20 members necessary for a full Commission of 7 Hispanics, 7 Blacks and 6 Anglos. .a In accordance with administrative Policv, I am notifying you of the above so that you may appoint members to the board as pro- 4 vided for in Article 1 of Resolution No. 78-271. i a SP:tc Sr'-10.63 COMMISSION ON '1. j S'1'l1'1'US ' 17 worGl t COMM T.'L"1'1;1s ME"M1311"PS Hal: La Pl:nfl(D iI 1.91?111ic Ni)c)ci 13e.lI-e **'1'erril.
